Virtude de prisioneiros IV

...But take courage! After all, the prisioner´s dillema turned out not to be archetypal justification of human selfishness, but the reverse. Played repeatdly and discriminatingly, the game always favours the good citizen. Nice strategies like Tit-for-tat, Pavlov and Firm-but-fair win out over nasty ones. Perhaps game theory, too, can come to the rescue of the environmentalist´s dillema. Perhaps it can find a way for self-interested exploiters of the natural world to stop themselves killing the geese that lay golden eggs....
